Trump Demands Hamas Accept Hostage Deal for Gaza Ceasefire

Donald Trump, the former US President, recently sent a clear, final message to Hamas. He urged them to accept a proposed deal to release hostages held in Gaza. Trump hinted that this agreement was close to happening.

Last Sunday, September 7th, Trump used his Truth Social platform to make his position known. He wrote that Israel had already agreed to his terms. He then called on Hamas to do the same. Trump warned the group of what would happen if they refused. He stressed this was his very last warning.

Later that same day, after arriving in Washington D.C., Trump spoke to reporters. He sounded hopeful about the ongoing talks. He mentioned that a “very good” solution was in the works. “You will hear about this soon,” he told the press. “We are trying to finish it and bring the hostages back home.”

Hamas responded with its own statement soon after. They confirmed receiving some ideas from the United States. These ideas came through other groups helping with the talks. The goal is to reach a ceasefire deal in Gaza. Hamas stated they are now looking at how to make these ideas better. They said they are still ready to discuss releasing all hostages. However, they demand a clear end to the conflict. They also want all Israeli forces to leave the area completely.

Earlier, on Saturday, Israel’s N12 News reported details of Trump’s suggested new ceasefire plan. This proposal asks Hamas to release all 48 remaining hostages on the very first day of a truce. In return, Israel would let go of thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in its jails. The report also said that negotiations to end the war for good would happen during this ceasefire period.

An Israeli official commented on Trump’s offer. They said the Israeli government is “seriously considering” the plan. However, the official did not share any more information about it.
