Treasury begins payments of the Family Support Bonus

Tesorería inicia pagos del Bono de Apoyo Familiar

The National Treasury began the delivery, through the Social Cabinet, the first 44,000 checks of the Family Support Bonus, which will benefit one million households with the payment of a single amount of RD1,500 to mitigate and counteract the effects of the post-pandemic crisis as recently announced by President Luis Abinader.

The announcement was made, through a statement, by the national treasurer, Luis Rafael Delgado Sánchez. The first installment is RD$44 million and will cover the provinces of Monte Plata, Azua, Bahoruco and Barahona.

Also Dajabón, El Seibo, Elías Piña Independencia, Monte Cristi, Pedernales, Peravia, San Jose de Ocoa, San Juan and Sanchez Ramirez, he indicated.

The exact number of checks delivered to date is 29,380distributed in the aforementioned provinces in this first phase, while in a second stage it will continue with the rest of the country”, added Delgado Sánchez.

He argued that the present authorities will continue to accompany and support those who have the least and for a social policy focused on their needs and attending to their requests.

The Government launched this bond through the Social Policy Coordination Cabinet, in combination with the Supérate Program and ADESS.

The beneficiaries were selected by the Unique System of Beneficiaries (SIUBEN), after a rigorous filtering process in which one million citizens were identified who, due to their condition of poverty, were considered to receive the economic incentive.

The bonus is strictly aimed at male and female heads of households within the quality of life index I and II and who do not receive the Aliméntate subsidy.
