Illness continues to affect the peloton at the third week of the Tour de France, as Egan Bernal has tested positive for Covid-19, joining a growing list of athletes who have been affected by the outbreak. Ineos, Bernal’s team, has been hit hard, with Tom Pidcock and Geraint Thomas having already tested positive and survived the race. Carlos Rodriguez, the team’s top-placed cyclist, has remained infection-free and is currently in 6th place, 11:27" behind the leader.
Bernal, who tested positive, is currently in 21st place overall, 57:12" behind the yellow jersey.

Belgian cyclist Maxim Van Gils (Lotto Dstny) will not participate today due to a positive Covid-19 test. According to his team, Van Gils woke up with mild symptoms this morning and tested positive for the virus.
