Portuguese youth football saw two notable victories as Torreense continued its strong run to narrow the gap on the league leader, while Santa Clara ended a two-game winless streak, both securing 2-1 wins in the Liga Revelação.
Torreense clinched its third consecutive victory in Série B by defeating Portimonense, significantly reducing the distance to current leader Benfica. The win brings them within four points of Benfica, though the league leader has played one additional match.
The team, coached by Luís Tralhão, showed resilience, coming from behind after conceding a goal just before halftime.
Meanwhile, Santa Clara secured a crucial 2-1 win over Estoril at the Jamor stadium. This victory propelled them into third position and broke a two-match streak without a win, solidifying their competitive standing.
Portimonense’s Yonghak Kim had opened the scoring against Torreense in the first half. Torreense then mounted a comeback with goals from Guerreiro in the 65th minute and Daniel Ramos in the 72nd minute.
In the Santa Clara match, Daniel Silva put his team ahead from the penalty spot in the 19th minute. Estoril equalized through Martim Dias in the 44th minute.
Rodrigo Mendes scored the decisive goal for Santa Clara with a header in the 81st minute.
