Departure from Cádiz CF
The decision to leave Cádiz CF was largely driven by the lack of playing time and the nearing end of his contract. Tomás Alarcón, a midfielder from Chile, sought a new team where he could continue to grow as a footballer. Since his return from a loan, Alarcón had limited opportunities to play, which was a significant factor in his decision to move on.
Limited Opportunities with Cádiz
Neither of the team’s coaches, Paco López nor Gaizka Garitano, gave Alarcón significant playing time. This lack of trust from the coaches led to Alarcón’s decision to return to his home country and join Colo-Colo. The move aims to provide Alarcón with the opportunity to regain his confidence and demonstrate his abilities as a player.
Agreement with Colo-Colo
Cádiz CF has included a purchase option clause in the agreement with Colo-Colo. This clause ensures that Cádiz CF will receive a percentage of the sale price if Alarcón is sold in the future and manages to stand out with the Chilean team. At 25 years old, Alarcón had only played a total of 127 minutes in four games in the Silver Cup during his time with Cádiz CF.
