The Indian team recently lost the five-game T20 series to the West Indies 3-2. Hardik Pandya was the captain of the team in this series and more than one strong player played in the team. However, Ireland will be a young side led by Bumrah who will see this run as a fitness test. He will return after about 11 months. Other fast bowlers in this roster include Arshdeep Singh, the famous Krishna and Avesh Khan. In addition to these four, the roster also includes a fifth fast bowler, who made his debut in all three formats on the West Indies Tour and played a total of 9 matches.
We’re talking about fast bowler Mukesh Kumar from Bihar. Debuting in the second Test of the West India Tour, he made his international debut. After that he played all three games of the ODI series and also made his debut here. Then Mukesh also made his debut in the T20 series, playing all five games. But Hardik Pandya was seen as his stake in the T20 series. He didn’t throw the opening or middle overs, but was in the process of bowling the death overs. While at ODIs it was different and Mukesh was seen with the new ball.
The entire series is cut on the bench!
The famous Krishna in the Ireland series, now playing Jasprit Bumrah, can be considered perfectly safe. Both players have made comebacks and the board wants to try them out ahead of the Asian Cup and World Cup. Arshdeep Singh is the only left arm pitcher and is likely to play no matter what. Then the responsibility for spin lies in the hands of Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi. Mukesh’s place is not visible in this state. If the famous Krishna makes his T20 International debut special and Arshdeep stays in his rhythm, Mukesh Kumar’s entire Ireland series can be spent on the bench in this condition.
How was Mukesh Kumar’s performance?
Mukesh made his Test debut on the West Indies tour, recording two wickets overall in one game. However, with the game ending in a tie, he didn’t have many bowling opportunities in the second inning. His performance impressed the coach and captain and he also received the ODI cap. Here he hit runs in three games with an excellent economy of 4.6 and took four wickets overall. The T20 series wasn’t anything special for him, maybe that’s because his role was still undecided. In five T20 games, Mukesh hit runs with an economy of 8.81 and took just three wickets. His performance was decent but now that Bumrah and Famous have returned he may have to sit on the bench due to the composition of the squad.
