In order to advance in the recognition of the labor rights of those who do domestic work in the country, the Ministry of Women deposited before the Constitutional Court a "Amicus Curiae"What response to the appeal of unconstitutionality presented against Resolution number 14-2022 of the Ministry of Labor that seeks to formalize Paid Domestic Work.
This "Amicus Curiae" is a legal resource that indicates the need for special regulation for domestic work and compliance with ILO Convention 189, ratified by the Dominican State since 2015.
The action seeks for this sector to have the same rights as all workers, such as written contracts, the maximum working day, the minimum wage, social security coverage and payment of overtime or holidays.
