In 2024, the Indian U19 cricket team has to take part in the ICC U19 World Cup in South Africa. In view of the preparations for this important tournament, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule of a tri-series in which South Africa and the Afghanistan U19 team will join India as the third team. All matches in this triangular series will be played at the Johannesburg ground and begin on December 29th.

All teams play against each other twice

The Indian U19 team recently took part in the Asia Cup U19 tournament where the team’s performance did not live up to expectations and their journey ended with a loss to Bangladesh in the semifinals. Now this tri-series, which will be held before the World Cup, will definitely give the team a chance to adapt to the conditions there. According to the schedule released by BCCI, India Under-19 team will play their second match against South Africa on January 2 after playing Afghanistan on December 29. Afghanistan will then meet again on January 4th and South Africa on January 6th. The last game of this tri-series will be played on January 10th. BCCI has also announced the team for this series.

Will play his first game in the World Cup against Bangladesh

The ICC Under-19 World Cup also begins on January 19, with India having been added to Group A and will play their first match in the tournament against Bangladesh on January 20. Then there will be the final group game against Ireland on January 25th and the USA on January 28th.
