The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) and the Savings and Credit Bank (Adopem), inaugurated yesterday the Mipymes Adopem Centerwhich will offer financial and business development services to micro, small and medium-sized companies.

The MICM minister, Víctor Bisonó, expressed his satisfaction with the opening of the first MSME Center Specialized in Finance and announced the relaunch of MSME centers throughout the country, “for which we guarantee the appropriation of budgetary resources that will allow their management during 2023,” he revealed.

He said that this new alliance with Adopem NGO represents the genuine commitment to promoting economic leadership and empowerment of the woman in Dominican society, especially to provide financial inclusion and training to the most vulnerable sectors.

Follow-up
The minister explained that the MICM has created the Management and Monitoring Committee for MSME centers, “a body that is in charge of evaluating, supervising and making decisions regarding the operation of these support units for entrepreneurs and MSMEs.”

Bisonó stressed that, in addition, Internal and external audits are carried out on the compliance processes of these centers and the allocation of resources to those who represent excellence in the offer of business development services is prioritized.

He assured that, by 2023, the National Network of Prototyping and Technology Transfer Centers will be implemented, with the opening of three new centers located at the ISA University of Santiago, specializing in Agribusiness and Circular Economy; at the Loyola Polytechnic Institute, specializing in Industrial Technology; and at the Universidad Central del Este, specializing in Orange Economy and Crafts.

Support to sectors
Minister Víctor Bisonó highlighted the work undertaken by the government of President Abinader by supporting all the productive sectors of the country, adding strategic allies to this effort by the government.

“We have considered bringing technical assistance to more than 2 thousand MSMEs and specialized training for 7,950 entrepreneurs. This is only possible with you, the most important support infrastructure for MSMEs in the country,” said the head of the MICM.

At the opening ceremony of the new Mipymes Center were José Altagracia Hazim, rector of the Universidad Central del Este (UCE); José Victoriano, rector of the Loyola Polytechnic Institute; Josefina Pepín, Vice Chancellor for Research Projects at the Pedro Henríquez Ureña University (UNPHU); and Vilma Cabrera, academic vice-rector of the Open University for Adults (UAPA), among others.

Support for entrepreneurs
The executive president of the Adopem Bank, Mercedes Canaldaexpressed joy for this new Mpipymes Center, for being the first specialized in microfinance, specifying that the good results of the methodology that his company has been implementing in more than 40 years of experience.

“We will be guiding the most vulnerable sectors who are 55% of the base of entrepreneurs who do not finish the basic level of education, and 24% of young people without experience, therefore, we will be working on their professional growth, and 9% of the elderly who are the vital and essential in the business. We will also be supporting so that it continues to be the backbone for small and medium-sized companies,” Canalda said.

Methodology.
Regarding the relaunch of the centers, the Vice Minister of Promotion of MSMEs of the MICM, Jorge Morales Paulino, pointed out that they bring a new scheme, methodology and system that will make them more efficient.

“These MSME centers are the true support units for MSMEs in the different locations and universities where they operate, so we will maintain constant support and monitoring from this vice-ministry,” emphasized Morales Paulino. perform the operation.
