MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia has once again been hit by a deadly plague, with record deaths in a single day since the outbreak began.
According to Russia’s official Corona virus task force, the country is witnessing a sharp rise in deaths from corona, with a record 973 people dying of the disease yesterday.
According to media reports, 28,717 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in Russia today, while 19 to 984 deaths were reported, which is a record of daily deaths.
Russian Health Minister Mikhail Morashko told the media that hospitals across the country have 255,000 beds for corona, of which about 23 are in 235,000 patients and 6,000 are on ventilator.
According to Russia’s Corona Virus Task Force, there are 7.8 million confirmed cases of Corona in the country, while the death toll from the global epidemic is 218,345, the highest in Europe.
Due to the increase in the Corona epidemic, normal operations in the western regions of Russia have been postponed, while in these areas the capacity of the Corona ward has been reduced.
The government has cited the slow rate of vaccination as the main reason for the rapid rise in infections and deaths.

Polls show that more than half of Russians do not intend to be vaccinated.
