The President of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, announced this Wednesday the tender for 23 million euros for 30 new wastewater treatment plants in as many municipalities of the Community. A measure financed by the Autonomous Administration itself, from its own resources and resources from the European Confederation, the provincial councils and the beneficiary city councils.

Fernández Mañueco made this announcement in statements collected by Ical during the inauguration ceremony of the new Ledrada wastewater treatment plant in the province of Salamanca, which took place at the town hall of the city of Chacinera and where the Minister of the Environment was also present. Regarding the 30 sewage treatment plants put out to tender today, Mañueco acknowledged that the board had thereby exceeded the target set by the regional government to include centers with 500 to 2,000 inhabitants in these investments. Starting this year, an additional 1,300 facilities would be built in areas with fewer residents. In fact, he announced that the technical projects of the first 100 are already being designed in order to start construction in the summer.
