The Argentine Polo Association (AAP) presented the Triple Crown made up of the 82nd Tortugas CC Open, the 129th Hurlingham Club RUS Open and the 129th HSBC Argentine Polo Open, bringing together the most famous polo players in the world.
In this special year, in which the AAP celebrates its first 100 years, Nicolás Occhiato, host of Luzu TV and El Último Pasajero, and Gustavo Sgalla, ESPN journalist, were the masters of ceremonies of the event in which they were present polo players from each of the teams who will participate in this great event.
Eight formations will play the Tortugas and Hurlingham tournaments: the nativity -defending champion in Palermo and Hurlingham-, La Dolfina, Ellerstina, La Irenita I, II and III; The RS Murus Sanctus Cove and La Dolfina II.
Another eight teams will play the Palermo Open Classification for the two vacant places: Chapaleufú, El Overo Z7 UAE, La H, La Cañada, Alegría, La Esquina, La Fixed and Trenque Lauquen.
the tournament of turtles, which takes place in the oldest country in South America, will take place between September 27 and October 8; the of Hurlingham between October 11 and 29; and the one of Palermo between November 1st and December 2nd. “This is a year of good news: the Association is turning 100 years old, but we are pure future. In May, our Triple Crown was declared of ‘National Interest’ and today we are already presenting a new edition that is going to be unmissable, both for polo fans and for those who experience it for the first time”, he stated Dolphin Uranga, president of the Association Argentinian Polo.
“These three tournaments are unique in the world, since they bring together among their protagonists nine players owning all 10 goals handicap,” he added.
The AAP is the parent entity of sport in Argentina and a benchmark in the world. The polo industry is manufacturing and talent exporter and currently generates more than 50 thousand direct employees, and 100 thousand indirect employees.
How were the zones?
The draw for the three tournaments was carried out. In Palermo, the formations of La Natividad, La Irenita, La Ensenada RS Murus Sanctus, La Irenita GSquared and a classified team; while in B they will Ellerstina, La Dolfina, La Dolfina II, La Irenita Clinova and the rest that emerged from the classification.
Then, the quarterfinal matches for the Tortugas contest were confirmed, which will be the following: The Nativity vs. Irenita Clinova; La Dolfina vs. The RS Murus Sanctus Cove; Ellerstina vs. Irenita GSquared; La Irenita vs La Dolfina II.
As for the hurlingham open, the zones will be assembled according to the results obtained in the Turtles.
