Riot Games will release “Lore & Legends,” described as the largest expansion ever for its popular auto-battler Teamfight Tactics, on December 3, 2025, offering a comprehensive celebration of the game’s fictional universe, Runeterra.
The Set 16 update aims to revisit and honor pivotal moments from Runeterra’s extensive 15-year history. Developers stated it elevates prior Runeterra-themed sets to an entirely new level.
Julien Camaraza, Lead Set Designer for “Lore & Legends,” expressed confidence that the set “has something that will excite any player,” while hinting at undisclosed features.
Peter Whalen, Director of Teamfight Tactics, emphasized the team’s opportunity to blend “epic story and deep nostalgia” with the game’s unique charm. He called “Lore & Legends” the “biggest set we have ever made,” integrating over 15 years of stories through distinct mechanics and memorable champions.
The expansion will be accompanied by an animation titled “Still Legendary,” featuring characters Pingu and other Little Legends reenacting iconic Runeterra moments. This visual narrative is set to the “Lore & Legends Medley,” created by musical artist Mako.
A full global reveal for Teamfight Tactics: Lore & Legends is scheduled to take place during the Tactician’s Crown of the K.O. Colosseum, from November 14 to 16.
The set will officially launch on December 3, 2025, across PC and mobile platforms as part of TFT’s 16.1 update.
Concurrent with the new set’s presentation, an invitation was extended for the TFT Paris Open, considered the game’s most significant annual event.
The Paris Open will host over 768 competitors vying for the TFT Strategist’s Belt and a total prize pool of $100,000.00 USD.
The competition is slated for December 12-14, 2025, at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France.
