Something big is happening for electric vehicle owners. Tesla is rolling out new charging stations at a lightning-fast pace. This speedy expansion is changing how drivers power up their cars. It truly highlights their promise to offer quick, easy, and efficient charging for everyone.
Just a few weeks ago, a new legal setup for electric mobility cleared the way. This new rule aligns with Europe’s AFIR regulation. It removed old barriers, like having to join the MOBI.E network or needing previous contracts. In just three weeks, Tesla made record growth. This marks a truly new chapter for electric vehicle charging in the country.
Mealhada and Fátima: Southern Europe’s New Charging Giants
Tesla has opened its largest Supercharger station in Southern Europe. This is the Mealhada Supercharger. It now boasts 40 charging stalls, including the very latest V4 technology. This station also stands as the largest fast-charging hub in the country.
At the same time, Tesla expanded the Fátima Supercharger. It gained 18 new stalls, bringing its total to 32. This makes it the second largest Supercharger in Southern Europe.
Other important expansions include:
- 12 new stalls in Alcantarilha;
- 8 in Loulé;
- 4 in Alcácer do Sal.
These additions mean more than 60 new charging stalls for Tesla’s network. This is a 70% increase in total available spots across the country in just three weeks. Good news for Alcácer do Sal: it will get another 18 charging stalls in the coming weeks.

Besides these new openings, Tesla plans to upgrade many existing stations by year-end. They will swap older V2 chargers for the newest V4 equipment. Also, two new stations will open soon in Castelo Branco and Matosinhos. This will boost charging options even more across the country.
Charging for Everyone
Here is the really big news: Tesla is slowly opening its Supercharger network to all vehicle brands. This means electric vehicle drivers will find charging more accessible than ever before. It is a win for everyone on the road.
With the V4 technology, charging and paying is simple. Customers can pay directly with a contactless card. The prices per unit of energy are clearly shown. There is no need for any special app. The process is quick, easy, and completely fuss-free. Drivers can charge up and get back on the road without a second thought.
