Terence Lewis Recalls Childhood Struggles, Parents’ Financial Woes

Terence Lewis needs no introduction. His name echoes with his famous dialogue “Chumeshwari performance” and impressive dance moves. Recently, he opened up about his childhood, journey in the entertainment industry, and more. He also shared the economic struggles he faced and what motivated him to work towards success.

Lewis recalled his early days as a dancer, teaching dance to earn money, but eventually discovered his passion for it. He said his parents told him they couldn’t support him financially, and he was on his own. But he enjoyed the journey, being alone and focused on his craft.

Terence’s Struggle

Terence revealed, “I was scared, thinking about what would happen, if I’d be successful or not.” The judge of Dance India Dance recalled being teased and wanting to prove himself. He said, “I once saw my father being humiliated because our home was broken.” These incidents motivated him to make a name for himself.

Father’s Humiliation

Terence remembered, “I saw my father begging. He was a proud man. I thought, ‘I won’t let this happen to me. I’ll work hard, won’t complain, and do whatever it takes.’ I’m glad I got hurt; it didn’t let me sleep.”

He also shared that he didn’t enjoy his young age, never watching movies, traveling, or doing anything else. He just focused on work and has no regrets.

Parents Lacked Money, Not Values

The judge of India’s Best Dancer said, “My parents were poor, but they had good values.” He explained that values were important to them, and as a famous choreographer, he realized the importance of those values. After judging Dance India Dance with Geeta Kapoor and Remo D’Souza, he became a household name.
