Teenager Sent to Inisa for Attempted Murder at Durazno Hospital

A 17-year-old boy is being held by the National Institute of Social Inclusion for Adolescents (Inisa) as a suspect in a attempted murder case. He allegedly walked into a hospital and shot a patient.

The teen was caught on Saturday morning during a raid on his home. On Sunday, he was charged with attempted murder.

The victim, a man who had been in a car accident, was shot in the buttocks. He was a patient at the hospital in Durazno.

After meeting with health authorities, union leader Martín Pereira said the hospital now has police presence 24/7. The security company also added more staff.
