When it seemed that the order of the ranking was reigning in the Master of Cascais, the third of the season and the first outing of the Circuit outside of Spain, This Friday, two couples that seemed to be going through their best moment of the year have fallen, Lima and Tapia in men, winners of the last two tournaments and third in the ranking, and Alejandra Salazay and Gemma Triay, leaders of the women’s classification.
Maxi Sánchez and Lucho Capra, as in Valladolid, they have frustrated the march of Lima and Tapia. In a glorious match for both, they have broken the strength of the couple number three in two sets: 7-5 and 6-3 in what the winners admitted was their most complete match of the year. This afternoon they will face Lebrón and Galán, who could with Javi Rico and Momo González, 6-3 and 6-.4
In the other semifinal they will be Paquito Navarro and Di Nenno, who had a bit of fortune to surpass Coki Rico and Tito Allemandi in a tremendous and close clash, 7-6, 4-6 and 7-5. They play against couple number four, Tello and Chingotto, in an attempt by both to bring those above closer together. They beat Javi Ruiz and Coello by a double 6-4.
In the female box the Martas, Ortega and Marrero, who have taken a step forward in their game in recent tournaments, they left Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar by 7-6 and 6-4 by the wayside, with which the number one could give up their position as best of the year in Cascais. Las Martas are measured today against Delfina Brea and Tamara Icardo, who were a roller against Virginia Riera and Paty Llaguno: 6-0 and 6-1.
In the other semifinal they will be Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, that after suffering in the first set before Aranza Osoro and Victoria Iglesias, ended up going back and aspired to regain the leadership of the year: 5-7, 6-3 and 6-1. His rivals will once again be Bea González and Lucia Sainz, that left Carolina Navarro and Eli Amatriain in the lurch by 6-4 and 6-3.
