Bat Inspection
Narine’s bat was rejected because it was too thick. According to the rules, a bat can be up to 2.64 inches or 6.7 centimeters deep. Narine’s exceeded this limit. Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s bat was approved.
Narine has played six matches for KKR this season. He scored 44 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore and 44 against Chennai Super Kings. However, he struggled against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians. Against Mumbai, he failed to score. Narine managed 30 runs against Lucknow.
Previous Bat Checks
Other players have faced bat inspections too. During the Rajasthan Royals vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore match, Phil Salt and Shimron Hetmyer’s bats were checked. Both were replaced. Hardik Pandya’s bat was also inspected but passed the test.
