The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, a premier Counter-Strike 2 tournament, begins Monday, November 24, featuring a significant $1.25 million prize pool and a historic best-of-five grand final format.
The competition boasts a total prize pool of $1,250,000. For the first time in the game’s history, the grand final will be played in a best-of-five series, departing from the previous best-of-three format.
Seven Brazilian teams are set to compete across the tournament’s three distinct phases. This marks a substantial representation from the South American region.
Legacy, Fluxo, Imperial, and RED Canids will start their campaigns in the initial phase. MIBR is confirmed for the second phase.
FURIA and paiN Gaming will enter directly into the third and final phase of the event.
The entire championship adopts a Swiss format for its regular matches. Progression and elimination series will utilize a best-of-three format.
The playoffs will feature a single-elimination bracket, with matches also played in a best-of-three series.
The top eight teams from the first stage will advance to the second stage. Similarly, the top eight from the second stage will move on to the third, joining pre-qualified teams.
Four Brazilian teams have their opening matches scheduled for Monday, November 24. Imperial will face Rare Atom at 12:00 PM UTC.
Legacy will compete against FlyQuest at 1:00 PM UTC. Fluxo is slated to play GamerLegion at 2:00 PM UTC.
RED Canids will conclude the day’s Brazilian action, taking on fnatic at 3:00 PM UTC.
