SS Rajamouli Announces Animated Baahubali: $14.5M Budget Draws Prabhas Quip

SS Rajamouli has announced a significant expansion of the acclaimed Baahubali universe. The celebrated filmmaker revealed plans for a new 3D animated film, clarifying it is not a direct sequel.

The project is titled "Baahubali: The Eternal War." It aims to explore and extend the narrative world established in the blockbuster live-action films.

The animated feature is slated for an approximate budget of 120 crore Indian Rupees, which translates to about $14.4 million USD. This substantial investment marks a new chapter for the franchise.

Prabhas, the star who portrayed the titular character in the original Baahubali films, commented humorously on the budget. He joked, "120 crore? This was the planning budget for the first part of Baahubali."
