The training grounds at the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy buzzed again on Tuesday morning. Sporting players returned to work after a three-day break. Coach Rui Borges had some fresh faces join the main squad.

Seven promising young players stepped up from Sporting’s B team. This was a necessary move, as many senior internationals are still away with their national teams. Defenders Bruno Ramos, José Silva, and Rodrigo Dias joined the group. Midfielders Rafael Besugo and Samuel Justo also made the jump. Up front, attackers Lucas Anjos and Rafael Nel got their chance. Coach Borges needed more players to keep training sharp.
A couple of familiar international faces were back, even if not yet on the field. Debast and Kochorashvili reported for duty. Debast even brought a gift: a Red Devils jersey for Alisson Santos. Our sources confirm both players spent their time in the gym. Fans can expect to see them on the green pitch for Wednesday’s session.
Not all news was bright, though. Maxi Araújo, Morita, Diomande, Nuno Santos, and Daniel Bragança are all with the medical team. There’s good news for some of them. Maxi Araújo and Morita are very close to making a comeback. They might be ready just in time for the big game against Famalicão on Saturday.
Jeremiah St. Juste was also spotted at Alcochete. However, he wasn’t with the main squad. He trained separately, joining the B team. He was seen working hard in the Academy’s outdoor gym. It shows everyone is on their own unique journey back to full fitness.
