All Spanish Sports, represented by the 63 Spanish Federations that are part of ADESP, -Olympic, Non-Olympic and Adapted Sports- wants to convey its solidarity with the neighbors affected by the volcano on the island of La Palma. The Board of Directors of the Spanish Sports Association has already begun efforts to organize different large-scale actions that serve to raise funds and help those affected by the explosion of the Cumbre Vieja volcano.
José Luis Abajo, Pirri, President of the Spanish Fencing Federation and member of the Association’s Board of Directors, has been appointed coordinator of all these actions that will be launched from ADESP: “We have been talking about this matter for days with different colleagues, Presidents of other Federations, because Sport cannot sit idly by in a situation like this. We are going to involve well-known athletes in Spain, coaches and other renowned professionals in our sector to raise as many funds as possible “.
There are several initiatives that are already being worked on within the Federations, some of an individual nature by each entity, and others in which the strength of the group will achieve significant figures.
