Spain’s Under-17 Team Secures Top Spot in Group A at World Cup in Turkey
The Spanish under-17 team has qualified first in Group A for the round of 16 of the World Cup in Turkey after defeating Lithuania 80-75 in a thrilling match.
Exciting Duel Between Two Teams
The match between the two teams, which had previously won against Puerto Rico and the Philippines, was marked by excitement. Lithuania dominated much of the match from the opening 6-5 and led in the second quarter by 35-42 and in the third by twelve points (48-60).
Spain’s Comeback Victory
Even the Lithuanian team went into the last three minutes with a five-point lead. However, Spain never gave up and turned the game around thanks to a three-pointer by Guillermo del Pino with 40 seconds left (76-75) and two free throws by the Unicaja Málaga player himself, which Ignacio Campoy finished off with two more.

Gildas Giménez was the top scorer of the match with 15 points, while Máximo García-Plata got twelve, Guille del Pino eleven, and Ian Platteew ten. Ian Platteew was also the leader in PIR with 17, capturing eight rebounds.
