Thus the Spanish government intervenes with suppliers so that they return to the pot a substantial part of these profits, the upstream effect of which is purely virtual. For consumers, the government’s forecasts for this measure, combined with the Spanish VAT cut, could see a 30% reduction in consumers’ electricity bills.
Also the Spanish government is committed to helping families experiencing difficulties to pay their electricity bills, the power cut will be postponed, 10 months after the first unpaid. The Spanish economic crisis has seen, it must be said, the “rebirth” of slums.
