Sonu Sood, known fondly by many as the “messiah of the poor,” recently brought some exciting news during his trip to Patna, Bihar. The actor landed in the state capital on a Sunday and quickly shared a peek into his next big project. It turns out his upcoming film will be deeply rooted in Bihar itself.
Sood expressed a special bond with the region. He told news agency ANI, “There’s a unique attachment to my homeland. I’ve come back, and I’ll keep coming.” He then revealed the big secret: his next movie will indeed be based in Bihar. “An event is also happening… we are going to start it soon… Patna is my home soil, and the next film I’m doing is also based in Bihar,” he added.
His visit also coincided with the buzz of the Bihar Assembly elections. Voters will head to the polls for 243 assembly seats on November 6 and November 11, with votes counted on November 14. Commenting on the political scene, Sood kept it simple and hopeful. “My only wish is that no matter who wins, they should make Bihar better,” he stated, showing his concern for the state’s future.
Beyond his upcoming Bihar-centric project, Sonu Sood has a long and varied film career. He’s recognized for roles in popular movies like ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ and ‘Simmba’. He also stepped behind the camera, making his directorial debut with the action thriller ‘Fateh’. This film featured a stellar cast including Naseeruddin Shah, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz, and Divyendu Bhattacharya alongside Sood himself. But it’s not just his acting that makes headlines. Sood is widely celebrated for his selfless charity work, especially his tireless efforts to help those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic and, more recently, during the floods in Punjab.
