On February 25, the Solana network experienced block production delays after an upgrade of its validation software, resulting in transaction disruptions. Validators have downgraded the software to improve network performance.

Solana network needs to be restarted

The technical issue started at 07:00 Amsterdam time, forcing validators to downgrade to version 1.13 to restore transactions in the network. However, the downgrade was not enough to return Solana to normal operation, so the decision was made to reboot the network at v1.13.6.

According to the Solana website, the network experienced a significant delay in block production during the validation software upgrade. Developers are currently performing a root cause analysis.

The delay issue is related to the upgrade from 1.13 to 1.14, which delayed the completion of the block. Currently the Solana network is rebooting and 80% of the active stake is required to resume operations.
