Hits by newly acquired Jose Siri and David Peralta produced the decisive run as the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2 on Wednesday.
Siri led off Tampa Bay’s sixth with a single off Adam Cimber (8-4). He stole second base and scored on a single by Peralta.
Peralta had two of Tampa Bay’s six hits, all singles, after they had just two hits in a 3-1 loss the night before.
Peralta was acquired in a trade with Arizona on Saturday. Siri arrived from Houston in a three-seat trade on Monday.
Ryan Thompson (3-2) earned the victory by hanging up two zeros without allowing a hit. Jason Adam covered the ninth for his fifth save in six attempts.
Teoscar Hernandez drove in Toronto’s runs with a double in the first inning and his 15th homer in the fourth.
