A shocking case of fraud has come to light, involving a fan of Bollywood actor Siddharth Malhotra, who was allegedly cheated of over Rs 50 lakh by a fan page of the actor.
The Allegations
The complainant, Meenu Vasudev, claimed that two individuals, Aliza and Husna Parveen, convinced her that Siddharth Malhotra’s life was in danger. The alleged scam unfolded on the social media platform X, where Meenu was made to believe that Siddharth’s life was in danger due to his wife Kiara Advani.
The Con Artists
Meenu alleged that Aliza told her false stories, claiming that Kiara had forcibly married Siddharth, and that celebrities like Karan Johar, Shashank Khaitan, and Manish Malhotra had helped Kiara in this endeavor. Aliza also convinced Meenu that Kiara had cheated on Siddharth, performed black magic on him, and taken control of his bank account.
The Extortion
Meenu was asked to “save Sid” by paying money to Aliza, who claimed to be a close neighbor of Siddharth Malhotra’s family in Delhi. Meenu was also introduced to a fake PR team member, Deepak Dubey, and a woman claiming to be an informer of Kiara’s team, Radhika. Meenu paid money to send a hamper to Siddharth, which turned out to be a photoshop.
The Aftermath
The incident has sparked outrage among Siddharth Malhotra’s fans, who are sharing Meenu’s posts and tagging the actor in social media posts, hoping to bring attention to the fraudulent activity. Siddharth Malhotra’s last film, “Yodha,” released in March, did not fare well at the box office, and his next project has not been announced.
