Two men were shot in Montevideo’s Casabó neighborhood late Sunday night. A 23-year-old and a 33-year-old were taken to Cerro Hospital in a private vehicle.

The incident occurred at a house party on Continuación Charcas and Calle 16. Around 12:20 a.m., a white Fiat SUV pulled up, and at least one occupant opened fire. Those at the party and neighbors heard multiple shots. The two men were injured and taken to the hospital.

Injuries and Investigation

Medical reports say one man was shot in the abdomen and suffered a broken pelvis. The other was hit in the right arm with both entry and exit wounds. Police are investigating and reviewing security footage to track the SUV’s route and identify the shooter.

The shooting comes after a string of violent incidents in the area. Early Monday, a double homicide occurred in the nearby Cotravi neighborhood, leaving two others injured. Just 24 hours earlier, a 15-year-old was shot in the Cerro neighborhood and remains in critical condition. Police sources describe the Fiat as white.
