Manoj Santoshi, the writer behind the hit show “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!”, passed away on March 23, 2025, due to liver cancer. The news sent shockwaves through the entire team. Recently, Asif Sheikh opened up about Manoj’s final days, revealing that Shilpa Shinde, who played the iconic role of Angoori Bhabhi, was by his side until the very end.
Shilpa’s dedication to Manoj was unwavering, even after she left the show. Asif shared that she spent two months in the hospital with Manoj, putting her life on hold. In an interview with Zoom, Asif praised Shilpa’s selfless nature, saying she has a heart of gold. He recalled how she would sit outside the ICU, eating at the hospital canteen and traveling by auto-rickshaw, just to be close to Manoj.
Shilpa’s Tireless Efforts
Asif visited Manoj in the hospital for two days and witnessed Shilpa’s devotion firsthand. She would sit outside the ICU, waiting for any update on Manoj’s condition. Her sole purpose was to help him recover, no matter what it took.
A Glimpse into Shilpa’s Emotional State
When Manoj passed away, Shilpa was overcome with grief. Asif had to console her, as she felt responsible for not being able to save him. However, Asif reassured her that she had done everything she could. During her two-month stint in the hospital, Shilpa had put her life on hold, abandoning her luxurious lifestyle, including her Mercedes, to be with Manoj.
Asif remembered Shilpa’s humble response when he pointed out her sacrifices: “This is what love is.” Her words spoke volumes about her character, and Asif’s praise for her is a testament to the impact she had on those around her.
