SHEIN recently hosted a creativity event in Madrid, bringing together industry experts, professionals, and designers from its SHEIN X program. The event focused on the challenges and opportunities facing the fashion industry, with a particular emphasis on nurturing young talent.
Sparking Creativity
A roundtable discussion featured Gonzalo Figari, founder of CandyStore; Marta de la Rocha, vice-dean at the Universidad Europea’s Creative Campus; and Lupe de la Vallina, a portrait photographer. They shared their insights on what it means to be creative in today’s fast-changing world. Figari noted that creativity is about interpreting the world and connecting with people’s emotions. De la Rocha highlighted the fashion industry’s dynamic nature and its current transformation driven by new technologies. De la Vallina emphasized the need for creatives to stay true to their unique voice and avoid getting caught up in referencing others.
The conversation centered around the creative process and the balance between intuition and methodology. The experts also touched on the role of fashion as a powerful form of self-expression, capable of telling stories and challenging stereotypes.
Empowering Emerging Talent
SHEIN reaffirmed its commitment to supporting young talent in Spain through its SHEIN X program. The initiative has already backed over 5,300 designers worldwide, with more than 175 Spanish designers currently on board.
