Shazam’s New Feature: Auto-Sync Identified Songs to Spotify, Apple Music Playlists

Music discovery app Shazam is boosting its utility for users globally by integrating seamlessly with popular streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, enabling automatic playlist creation and enhancing the overall listening experience.

This integration allows users to automatically transfer newly identified songs directly into personalized playlists on their preferred music service. Previously, Shazam’s internal library of discovered tracks was not designed for efficient music playback.

The new functionality addresses this gap, turning Shazam from a standalone identification tool into a more comprehensive music discovery and listening platform. Users can now enjoy their newly found songs without manually transferring them.

To set up this automatic synchronization on an iOS device, users open the Shazam app and navigate to Settings in the top right corner. They then tap “Connect” next to the Spotify option, which will open the Spotify app.

After agreeing to the connection, users must activate a button labeled “Sync your songs with Spotify” to enable automatic transfers.

On Android devices, the process is similar. Users open Shazam, then swipe left or tap the Library icon in the top left. From there, they access Settings, also in the top left.

Users scroll down to “Music app preference” and activate the button “Sync Shazam library to Spotify.”

This straightforward setup ensures that every song identified by Shazam is automatically added to a dedicated playlist within the user’s Spotify or Apple Music library, providing immediate access to their latest discoveries.
