Several famous directors shoot shorts with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Ten months after its launch, Samsung launched the “Filmed #withGalaxy” campaign to promote the quality of the Galaxy S21 Ultra camera.

As part of the campaign, he teamed up with famous filmmakers and asked them to make short films with the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The company entered into a partnership with the director Brit Joe Wright, known for making movies like Atonement (Golden Globe Winner in 2008), Pride and Prejudice (2006), the darkest moment (2017) and the woman at the window (2020).

Wright filmed all the scenes for his short film Princess and Peppernose using the Galaxy S21 Ultra. His team used the phone’s ultra-thin 13mm camera to record close-ups and wide shots for the film.

Chinese director Sha Mo, known for Love will tear us apart and my huckleberry friends, filmed the short film children of paradise with the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. It shows children from a small rural school. He used the smartphone’s Director’s View feature to shoot the same scene from three different perspectives, something he said was not possible with larger cameras.

The two short films will be screened at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in October 2021.

“Filming is one of the most powerful tools for storytelling and one of the best ways to emotionally connect with people”, says Stephanie Choi, head of marketing for Samsung Electronics’ mobile communications business

“With this series, we want to show people that they really don’t need expensive equipment or big budgets to create amazing movies – all they need is a little imagination and the Galaxy device in their pocket.”
