As they turned onto Ramón Vinci Avenue, they hit a recent construction project on the public sewer system. The impact was likely due to high speed. Both riders were injured. The driver suffered severe injuries and is now in the ICU at Salto hospital. His 25-year-old passenger is in intermediate care.
