Affected Military Personnel
In addition to Sergeant Fernández, nine other Uruguayan military personnel were affected by the attack. Sergeant Diego Ferreira, Cabo Roque France, Cabo Leonel Méndez, Cabo Jhon Patron, and soldier Elder Píriz are receiving treatment at a hospital. Cabo Julián Álvarez is also being evaluated for a pre-existing injury.
Medical Care and Recovery
Cabo Álvaro Caldineli and soldiers Franco Olivera and Luis Caetano are receiving nursing care at the Uruguayan base. The army has reported that the situation remains calm, with no recent fighting in the area.
Base Operations
The Uruguayan base has received visits from MONUSCO authorities and has completed restocking of essential supplies, including water, medical equipment, fuel, and food. The national contingent troops are in good health, according to reports.
