Sebastián Yatra gives his key to facing fame: “Keep your feet on the ground”

Sebastián Yatra da su clave para enfrentar la fama: "No dejar de tener los pies en la tierra"

Despite the fame that has made him one of the world stars of Latin music, Sebastián Yatra claims to live "With feet on the ground" by stating that his career is a job "like anyone else’s"with the same value.

"I have never felt that it makes me different or puts me in a place that allows me to stop having my feet on the ground or be a respectful, loving person."said the 27-year-old Colombian singer.

Yatra (Medellín, 1994) has started 2022 with the launch of "dharma", with a tour, the next premiere of the first Netflix musical in Spanish "Once upon a time… but not anymore" -which stars and is his acting debut-, and the nomination for an Oscar for the song "two caterpillars"who plays in the Disney hit "Charm".

"I feel that the universe is conspiring in my favor, God has us in mind this year with so many things happening at the same time. There’s no way they’re just a coincidence"said the artist, who has about 50 million followers on the networks.

To this is added that it will be in the Voz Kids in Spain, among other projects for this year: "It takes me time to process it all, but super grateful".

The Colombian star does not hide his excitement for his first solo tour, which will take him to several cities in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Latin America and Spain, a show "magical" of which is "supremely proud" with which to present "dharma"his third and most recent album.

"I want to have a good time and that people have a good time"he tells Efe about his "Dharma Tours"which started on February 25 at the National Auditorium of Mexico to a full house.

Yatra says that the public will see themselves reflected in the screens, the messages, the choreography: "It’s a show for your heart, for you to dance, for you to twerk to the floor"he affirms when referring to the reggaeton dance, a genre in which he has stood out but not the only one he performs, because he does not want to be pigeonholed.

That’s why your drive "dharma"which he considers the best of his three projects, is a mix of genres, which in addition to reggaeton includes rock, cumbia, ballads, and fusion with flamenco.

It also has several stars as guests: the Jonas Brothers, the Spanish Rosario and Aitana, the Colombian interpreter of cumbia and vallenato Jorge Celedón, and the reggaeton artists Daddy Yankee, Natti Natasaha, Álvaro Díaz and Guaynaa, among others.
