Sara Gallego Sotelo (Barcelona, October 11, 2000) is a 400-meter hurdles prodigy. In 2021 he stopped the clock at 55.20, to be silver in the U23 European Championship in Tallinn, erasing the record of Cristina Pérez (55.23) that had remained in force for 33 years. The goal of the talented athlete of 21 years (1.64m and 51 kilos), who is already four times absolute national champion of the distance, in addition to possessing three international medals (bronze in the European U18, another in the European U20 2019, the aforementioned second continental position in Estonia) is to lose 55 seconds, something that he clearly potentially has on his legs.
But Sara is more than a hurdler and she has shown it at a control in Sabadell. The Catalan joined the 800 meters with her sister Claudia (23 years old) and both ran the final with fantastic results.
