Salman Khan’s long-standing feud with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has taken a deadly turn. The feud, which began in 1998, escalated when Bishnoi allegedly orchestrated the murder of Salman’s close friend, Baba Siddique, in October 2024. This shocking incident led to a significant increase in Salman’s security detail. The grandscale trailer launch of his film ‘Sikandar’ was even canceled due to safety concerns.
Recently, Salman broke his silence on the threats he’s been receiving from Bishnoi during an event for his film. When asked if the threats intimidated him, Salman replied, “It’s all up to God, Allah.” He added, “Your lifespan is predetermined. Sometimes, having a large entourage can be a problem.”
The roots of the feud between Salman and Bishnoi date back to 1998, when Salman allegedly poached a blackbuck during the filming of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. Although Salman and his father, Salim Khan, denied the allegations, he was sentenced to one year in prison by a lower court in 2006 and five years by a Jodhpur court. However, he was granted bail in 2018 and later acquitted by the Rajasthan High Court in 2016.
Bishnoi, who belongs to the Bishnoi community that reveres the blackbuck as a sacred animal, has been seeking revenge against Salman ever since. In 2018, Bishnoi threatened to kill Salman, stating, “We will kill Salman Khan. Once we take action, everyone will know.” The Bishnoi community considers the blackbuck to be an embodiment of their guru, Jambeshwar. Salman’s actions were seen as a grave offense, leading to a long-standing vendetta.
