A deadly drone attack hit Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, killing three people. This happened just hours before Ukrainian and US officials met in Saudi Arabia.
The attack damaged several buildings, with at least one catching fire. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said a father and his five-year-old daughter were among those killed. He called on allies to increase pressure on Russia to end the war.
Ukraine’s air force said it shot down 97 out of 147 Russian drones, and successfully deflected 25 others. The attack came as Ukrainian and US officials prepared to meet in Saudi Arabia. Russian officials will also meet with US officials in Saudi Arabia on Monday, describing it as a “difficult technical conversation” that needs to happen.
Meanwhile, Russia’s defense ministry said it shot down 59 Ukrainian drones in southern Russia and Crimea overnight.
