Moscow: Russia dropped missiles on 60,000 tons of wheat, Ukrainian officials say Russia dropped drones on grain stocks near Ukraine’s warehouses.
According to details, Moscow’s refusal to renew an agreement allowing safe passage of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea has raised concerns for global food security.
After withdrawing from the grain export agreement, Russia dropped missiles on 60,000 tons of wheat, Ukrainian officials say Russia dropped drones on grain stocks near Ukraine’s warehouses.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that "”Russian terrorists deliberately targeted the infrastructure of the grain deal.” "”Every Russian missile is an attack not only on Ukraine, but on everyone in the world who wants a normal and safe life.”
Ukraine’s air force says Russia fired 63 missiles and drones targeting infrastructure and military installations in the Odesa region, shooting down 37 of them.
A large part of the grain export infrastructure at the port of Chornomursk, southwest of Odessa, was damaged and 60,000 tons of grain were destroyed, Agriculture Minister Mykola Solsky said.
Russian officials had previously warned that grain shipments from Black Sea ports could be dangerous, while the Russian president said the West was using the grain deal as blackmail.
The grain export agreement between Russia and Ukraine is likely to become more expensive.
Recall that after Russia’s withdrawal, the agreement that allowed Ukraine to safely export grain through the Black Sea officially ended.
The Kremlin’s announcement came hours after an attack on a bridge in Crimea, in which two civilians were killed, was not officially claimed by Ukraine but Russian security services said Ukraine was behind the attack.
The Russian President condemned the attack on the Crimean bridge and said that it will be given a strong response.
