Rui Costa First to Vote in Benfica Presidential Election

Benfica’s presidential candidates have largely disclosed their election day plans, offering transparency on their voting schedules ahead of Saturday’s ballot, even as one prominent former president keeps his arrangements private.

The five declared candidates will cast their votes at Estádio da Luz in Lisbon throughout the morning and early afternoon. Rui Costa, the current club president and a candidate, is scheduled to be the first to cast his ballot.

Luís Filipe Vieira, a former president also running for the club’s social bodies, has not revealed when he will vote. His campaign has only indicated his location for election night.

Costa plans to vote around 8:30 AM local time in Lisbon. Afterward, he will spend the day with the football team, which is set to play Arouca. He will be with his family in the evening.

Vieira’s team stated that the former president will be at a hotel on Avenida de Roma in Lisbon starting at 10:00 PM local time on election night. His voting schedule remains undisclosed.

Other candidates have also released their voting times. Cristóvão Carvalho is expected to vote at 11:00 AM. Martim Mayer is scheduled for 11:30 AM.

Noronha Lopes will vote at 12:00 PM. The businessman will spend election night at a hotel in Lisbon. João Diogo Manteigas has set his voting time for 12:45 PM.
