Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is scheduled for a private meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., Tuesday evening, adding an unexpected celebrity element to a high-level Saudi Arabian delegation visit.
The private encounter is set for 5:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), which is 9:30 PM UTC. It will occur approximately 30 minutes before an official dinner at the White House.
Ronaldo traveled to the U.S. capital as part of a delegation led by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. The Crown Prince held discussions with the current U.S. President in the Oval Office earlier on Tuesday.
Despite his prominent travel, Ronaldo himself has not yet been seen publicly in Washington. His partner, Georgina RodrÃguez, has confirmed their presence by sharing images from the city on social media.
Following his private discussion with Trump, Ronaldo is anticipated to join the broader Saudi delegation for the official dinner. This event will mark another public appearance for the soccer star during the diplomatic visit.
