Robo Ride & Glide To Cost Under $80, Developer Claims

Isaac Kasdorf, the indie game developer behind Robo Ride & Glide, just made a bold claim. His game, dubbed the “spiritual successor” to Kirby Air Ride, will launch for under $80.

Kasdorf posted this promise on his personal X page after Nintendo unveiled Kirby Air Riders, the official sequel to Kirby Air Ride, with Masahiro Sakurai at the helm. This new competitor has clearly got Kasdorf sweating.

Kasdorf’s been sharing memes and jokes about his game, like “I gotta do something to make my game special” and “I’m making a Kirby Air Ride successor and then Kirby Air Riders gets announced.” It’s clear he’s feeling the pressure.

A Price War?

So why the emphasis on a low price point? It might have to do with the recent backlash against Nintendo’s pricing for the Switch 2, which costs between $80-$90 in the US. Nintendo hasn’t responded to the criticism, but Kasdorf seems to be using it to his advantage. By promising a lower price for Robo Ride & Glide, he might be able to win over players who are put off by the Switch 2’s cost.

We’ll have to wait and see how this price war plays out, but one thing’s for sure: Kasdorf is pulling out all the stops to make Robo Ride & Glide a contender.
