Right Back Hevertton Nears Gil Vicente Loan From QPR

A familiar face in Portuguese football is set to make a return. Hevertton, a 24-year-old right-back, is close to joining Gil Vicente. This move comes as a loan deal, but there’s a catch: Gil Vicente will have the option to buy him outright later. The initial news came from ‘West London Sport’, and the Portuguese newspaper Record later confirmed these details.

Hevertton is still under contract with England’s Queens Park Rangers. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Vitoria Guimarães. That previous loan also included a purchase clause, set at about 2 million euros. However, Vitoria Guimarães decided not to make the deal permanent. This means Hevertton headed back to England for a short time.

Now, it seems his path leads back to Portugal. Hevertton grew up in the Sporting Lisbon youth system. He later played for Estrela da Amadora before heading abroad. Gil Vicente has been busy shaping their defensive line. They recently sold two left-backs, Kazu and Sandro Cruz. The club kept Zé Carlos and Jonathan Mutombo on the roster. They also brought in Ghislain Konan. Hevertton’s arrival will strengthen their options on the right side of defense.
