The fans are asking for it, their wishes will be granted. Riddick 4, soberly baptized Furya, will land well in theaters. More than eight years separate us currently from the last opus of “Riddick” (2013) through David Thowy which had broadly divided the spectators (52% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes). The low-budget sci-fi movie does have its solid base of fans, however, and they have been pushing hard for the bald owl’s return to the big screen.
On his official Instagram, Vin Diesel, the character’s lead performer, shared a photo of Riddick with the following title: “Great meeting today, very excited about this next chapter”. If nothing is known about the story yet, it should probably be an origin-story, which will go back well before the events of Pitch black released in 2000. We should know more about the origins of the anti-hero. A few months ago, Vin Diesel announced the end of the scenario:
” [Le réalisateur] David Twohy, he wrote a great screenplay. It’s just a matter of timing when we get a chance to shoot this. But I think we’re going to shoot this in Australia. And that would be the fourth chapter in this series, which would be great. ”
