Revolut was recently targeted by a cyberattack and the company confirmed that some user accounts were exposed.

The security incident did not result in any theft of funds, but customer data was exposed. The company, however, did not disclose what information was exposed, but says it is informing all users about the breach.

“The data varied for different customers. We will contact them individually if necessary.”, says Revolut.

On the other hand, card data, PINs or passwords were not accessed, explains Revolut.

The company claims that a very small percentage (0.16%) of its more than 20 million customers were affected. Currently, no action is required from users to further secure their accounts.

We recently received a highly targeted cyber attack from an unauthorized third party who may have accessed some of your information for a short period of time. There is no need for you to take any action, however, we would like to inform you and sincerely apologize for this incident.

We immediately detected and isolated the cyber attack. As you were part of a very small percentage of affected customers, we want to ensure that your data is now safe and we understand that you may have questions about this incident.

Please note that the theft of funds was not accessed. Your money is safe, as always. You can use your card and account normally. As a precaution, we have created a dedicated team to monitor your account and keep your money and your account safe.

While your money is safe, you may be at greater risk of fraud. We recommend that you be especially vigilant for any suspicious activity, including suspicious emails, phone calls or messages.
