Review of the military strength of both countries

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation in Ukraine on Thursday. Ukraine has confirmed the deaths of several soldiers in the Russian attack.

On one side stands Russia, the world’s second largest power, and on the other the small country Ukraine, which ranks 22nd among the world’s military powers. In front of Russia, the Ukrainian army is like salt in flour. 2.9 million Russian troops are battling a country with only 1.1 million troops.

In terms of air power, Ukraine is nothing compared to Russia. Russia has 1,511 fighter jets and 544 helicopters. Ukraine has only 98 warplanes and 34 helicopters.

Russia also has 12,240 tanks and more than 30,000 armored vehicles. Ukraine owns only 2,596 tanks and 12,303 armored vehicles.

Russia’s more than 7,500 artillery shells are aimed at Ukraine, while its enemy army has only 2,040 artillery pieces. The world should not forget that the nuclear country Russia is colliding with a non-nuclear power which has more than 6,000 different nuclear weapons.
