A disturbing traffic incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the road Corrales and Juan Acosta, in the Cóppola neighborhood, leaving three children injured. The minors, who were traveling in a taxi, were taken to the Pereira Rossell hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, according to doctors who spoke with the police.
The accident involved a collision between the taxi and a Toyota vehicle, which reportedly failed to respect a “Ceda El Paso” sign, essentially a yield sign. To make matters worse, the driver of the Toyota did not possess a driver’s notebook, a critical piece of documentation. Journalist Miguel Chagas, who was present at the scene, reported these details for News Agency.
The three girls, aged 12 and 13, were sitting in the back of the taxi when the crash occurred, and they were thrown against the screen. A woman who was sitting next to the driver was also affected. Fortunately, the driver’s injuries are not serious.
The Scientific Police are currently investigating the incident, working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the collision. This latest traffic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of responsible driving and adherence to traffic regulations.
