Retail Forum 2025 Explores Future of In-Store Payments and Omnichannel Strategies

At the 13th Retail Forum 2025, hosted by iKN Spain, industry experts gathered to discuss the future of retail. One key topic: payments.

Panelists at “The Future of Payments at the Point of Sale” talked about optimizing the payment experience. Mar Domínguez, commercial director at PEPPER, led the discussion. She presented PEPPER as a payment innovator, highlighting its focus on in-store financing to make buying easier.

Domínguez noted that half of PEPPER’s clients use its app, and the company keeps developing products to improve their experience. “Customer satisfaction is key,” she said. According to her, financial entities like PEPPER play a crucial role in the buying process.

Financing and omnichannel sales matter

Pedro García, general manager at Tiendas Bed’s, emphasized the importance of offering financing options. “Credit cards and financing are key to our business model,” he said. García explained that 60% of sales are made with credit cards, while financing plays a crucial role in transactions.

Juan Ignacio Martínez, CEO of Aural Centros Auditivos, shared how financing helps his company improve access to hearing aids. Only 4 in 10 people with hearing needs get these devices. “Breaking down payments is key,” Martínez said. Over 50% of Aural’s transactions are financed through products like Aura Plus, which includes a 36-month payment plan.

José Fernando Domenech, CEO of Norauto, highlighted the importance of omnichannel sales in modern retail. “Payment should be seamless across all buying channels,” he said. Norauto works to unify its payment platforms, ensuring a smooth experience for customers. Domenech also emphasized the importance of security and connectivity between channels.
