Recreativo do Libolo has reclaimed the top spot in Angola’s Girabola football championship following a decisive victory in the fifth round of matches.
The club secured its position by defeating 1.º de Maio de Benguela with a 1-0 scoreline on Sunday.
Quintas netted the sole goal of the match in the 20th minute.
Other significant results from the round saw Wiliete de Benguela achieve a 3-1 home win against Sagrada Esperança.
Polaco opened the scoring for Wiliete in the 38th minute. Mule and Wiwi added goals in the 48th and 60th minutes, respectively. Caranga scored for Sagrada Esperança just before halftime, in the 45th minute plus two minutes of injury time.
This victory propelled Wiliete de Benguela to third place in the league standings, accumulating nine points.
Elsewhere, Académica do Lobito defeated Bravos do Maquis 1-0. Nelo scored for Académica in the 34th minute.
Luanda City also secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Redonda FC.
